In 1992, Bruce and
Lisa started Red River
Canoe Company with
6 canoes.
In 2004, Bruce & Lisa (Red
River Canoe) turned this
now legendary canoe
company over to Theresa.
2010 saw Patty & Pierce of
Moab Rafting pass over this
great rafting company to
Theresa as well.
Theresa then joined these
two companies to create a
new venture in the Moab
river fun zone:
Moab
Rafting And
Canoe Co.

As a company comprised of canoe enthusiasts we are committed to the promotion of the sport in
our area, combined with our original livery/outfitting business makes MRCC a well-rounded
paddle sport company, targeting the canoe enthusiast as well as the general tourist population,
It is an activity that can be enjoyed by anyone. It attracts those who is looking for a relaxing way
to view the local scenery as well the active adventure-oriented recreationist. Our guides are
selected for their technical skills and their ability to take you safely down the rivers and through
the backcountry. You are in the company of real experts who are devoted to sharing this
Theresa started in the river industry in 1992, out of Flagstaff Arizona, working under food manager Drifter Smith. From 1992-97 she worked as the assistant food manager responsible for planning, purchasing, and packing gear for 3 to 14-day river trip, and up to 75+ trips a season.

Who We Are

canyon country to life! Traveling with are
guides is like taking a vacation with a
valued old friend. They cannot wait to show
you! They cannot wait to share the utter joy
that they feel every time they walk those
canyons or paddle on down the river. All of
our river guides are licensed according to
rigorous requirements and training set forth
by the state of Utah, are certified in
Emergency Medical Response and CPR
certified and trained in River Rescue. Now
Theresa and Jerry have built a home in the
community of Moab, and plan to make it
the best they can.
Theresa then worked from 1994-97 boating the San Juan and Colorado Rivers (Grand Canyon), this
included planning, caring, cooking, timing, reading eddy lines and currents. Theresa also has guest
guided for many of the outfitters on the Colorado plateau, including Canyon Voyages, Moab
Rafting, and NAVTEC Expeditions. This experience has been added to every season thereafter.
Theresa is certified with a Utah State guide license, Utah State Food handler, Wilderness First
Responder, CPR and Swift Water Rescue. As many of us, Theresa has served for many years in the
food service business as well, from dish-washing to managing. Now that is a lot to ponder. Thank
